A Coffee Date // March 13
My lovely friend Erin is a gracious host of these monthly virtual coffee dates, and it's just my favorite thing to pretend like we're all chatting together over tasty drinks. Let's grab a hot mug of something yummy and swap stories, shall we?
If we were on a coffee date... I would be yawning. WHAT EVEN, Daylight Savings?! Why are you out to get me this year? I was a hot mess all day yesterday-- waking up super early, never eating meals at normal times, napping HARD at like 5 pm, and then not being able to fall asleep until close to 1 am (and I'm usually out before 10...) -- OVER IT. Growing up in Arizona, time never changed, and I firmly believe that's just how it should be.
If we were on a coffee date... I would ask you if you've ever used Twitter polls to gather VERY important information or to help you make decisions. You know, like asking people what the best kind of berry is (55% said strawberry, but I firmly believe it's blackberry) or if you should post updates on your capsule wardrobe (55% also said if you're inspired, sure -- so I am! coming soon!). It's fun to get feedback! And yes, these things are VERY important, okay?
If we were on a coffee date... I would ask you to finish this sentence: "Jesus, if you are God, then..." We were prompted with this at church yesterday, and I keep thinking about my response. Really, if Jesus is God (and I fully believe He is), then that changes everything. It flips the whole world upside down while simultaneously making everything fall into its right place. It stirs in me a deep desire to worship wholeheartedly and live my life to give Him glory. It puts Christ at the center, and I orbit Him. I can't wait to hear how you'd respond.
If we were on a coffee date... I would share I'm SO excited for this weekend. It's our third ever un/defined gathering (a big women's conference at my church) and I cannot wait to worship with more than 700 women! It has been such a rich, beautiful, at times challenging, and really meaningful few months planning this whole event, and I absolutely love getting to be part of this gathering. I can't wait.
If we were on a coffee date... I would ask if you're going to do The 100 Day Project this year! It kicks off on April 4 and you can read more about it here! I'm stumped on what to do this year. Any ideas?! (In the past, I did #100daysofradpages and #100daysofradwatercolors) ...I want it to be challenging, but not impossible to do every day, but something that takes me a little out of my normal doodle/handletter comfort zone too. HELP.
If we were on a coffee date... I would ask how I can be praying for you specifically. My friend Amber and I talked about this recently and it's stuck with me -- being able to specifically tell people JUST how you're praying for them is SUCH a comfort and a gift for both the prayer and the prayed-for.
If we were on a coffee date... I'd ask if you'd be interested in sharing your heart or your words on The Rising. We're always looking for writers (and I'm even currently looking for a new assistant editor!) and I'd love to have you.
