What Saved My Life in March
Well, March, you started out fine and then LOST YOUR LOVING MIND and now here we are, staying home until June and fighting a global pandemic. Oof. You really had to go there, didn’t you? Thanks for lasting one million years… good riddance, though, for real.
Here’s what saved my life in March:
ps— affiliate links are included in this post!
five-star books:
Try Softer by Aundi Kolber (review here)
shows + movies:
Schitt’s Creek (i’m rewatching because I just need it right now)
Frozen 2 (100% needed the “next right thing” reminder)
podcasts:
The Popcast (Knox + Jamie)
Might I Suggest… (Hayley Morgan)
The Good List (Tsh Oxenreider)
That Sounds Fun (Annie F. Downs — specifically the Quarantine episodes with Eddie Kaufholz)
music:
Good Vibes for Weird Times (the playlist I made for these weird times, with relevant song titles and solid jams)
everything else:
Yoga classes on Zoom with my favorite teacher Marisa (you can join too!)
keeping a log of all the things I do each day (big and small and in between) so I can see that I actually AM doing things and stuff IS happening. (I do it in this planner.)
instacart deliveries.
zoom.
recording The RAD podcast every week.
coloring books. (I love everything from Lisa Congdon— the designs aren’t too teeny tiny!)
finally getting a new washer and dryer! we can do laundry again!
working out or going on a walk or doing yoga and basically just closing my rings every day.
keeping the house (and my room, specifically) SUPER clean and organized.
making my bed every morning. (i’m embarrassed to admit this was not a habit before quarantine!)
weekly counseling (moved to virtual sessions which is different but still great!)
getting outside as often as possible.
daily meditation sessions in the Calm app.
weekly deliveries of the Sunday New York Times (and turning them into collages!)
voting! (for my girl liz. sad she’s out.)
SPRING. all the praise hands for flowers blooming and warmer weather. no praise hands for pollen.
encouraging chalk art all around my neighborhood.
daily to-do lists. (I do them on this pad from Elise Joy!)
a quarantine bucket list.
planting my garden and getting my hands dirty again.
