Flight of Four: Summer Lovin'
It’s been a while since I’ve shared a good ole' flight of four here… to be honest, I forgot they were a thing! But I’m feeling some renewed excitement about getting back to blogging, and love the idea of sharing more of these groupings of four similarly themed books. Are you a fan too?! Comment and let me know!
On to the good stuff!
There’s something about the summertime that seems to go SO WELL with steamier reads, am I right?! A good romance just works so well for a pool day or a beach trip. Here are four of my favorites!
today’s flight of four: summer lovin’
The Accidental Beauty Queen by Teri Wilson
This one was like a Miss Congeniality + Parent Trap + Mary Kate & Ashley mashup, complete with a totally unbelievable love story and some classic twin switching, with the bonus of some solid literary references and jokes! It was light and fun, but totally not a book of real merit or substance— it would make for a great beach or poolside read!
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
Went in expecting chick lit, soon realized it was very much a sexy, steamy romance instead! Not my usual genre but a really fun read— loved the unique characters with realistic traits (Asperger’s and anxiety and the like) and the slightly predictable but still charming ending.
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
This book was sexy and steamy and fun — predictable, yes, but delightful and the perfect summer afternoon read. Not for PG audiences (🔥🔥🔥) but I was a big fan! Anyone else love this one?!
Marriage Vacation by Pauline Turner Brooks
Anybody else watch and love @youngertv?! I think it’s SO fun that this book from the show is actually published in real life... it’s such an inception situation! (The author is a fictional character in the fictional show, who writes this book as a fictional take on her own marriage... 🤯) I found it to be such a fun read (and it would be even if you have zero knowledge of the show or anything!) and a great and breezy chick lit book with a strong Eat Pray Love vibe too.
