My Everyday Nontoxic Makeup Routine
I recently shared on Instagram about my everyday beauty routine, and wanted to share it all here so I could link directly to the products I use in case anyone is interested. Most (not all, sadly, it’s a process!) of these products are clean, green, vegan, cruelty-free, and nontoxic. Always working to move more toward that direction while not breaking the bank!
Here’s what I do (most) every day:
Moisturize // I mist on S.W. Basics’ rosewater spray, then apply the Acure Radically Rejuvenating Resurfacing Cream (it’s cheapest at Thrive Market — don’t get it on Amazon!), then moisturizer, and finally, my face serum (made with jojoba oil, frankincense, myrrh, lavender, geranium, and tea tree).
Jade roller // I use this jade roller to gently massage my face in the mornings and help rub in all of that serum — it’s soothing and relaxing and just feels SO good after a night of usually clenching my jaw in my sleep!
Face // I use Glossier’s stretch concealer with a mini brush to cover up any blemishes. I use this Almay foundation (in light-medium), then either use that palette from Arbonne for blush or apply Glossier cloud paint (in dusk). I use the Cocokind highlighter stick (in mai-light) on my cheekbones when I’m feelin’ extra fancy. I’ve been using the mymatcha stick from cocokind for additional moisture too, since winter is killing my skin.
Eyes // I use this ELF primer on my eyelids (I got it cheaper at Target), then this Milani stay matte liquid eyeliner (in black), sometimes eyeshadow from this cheap ELF palette (in need it nude), and finish with either this not clean mascara (or blackest black) or this clean one from Pacifica (in abyss)!
Brows // I’ve been using Glossier bow brow for a while, and am a big fan. (I’ve never done the brush + gel thing!) I mix it up between the brown and blond shades, depending on how dramatic I’m trying to be.
Lips // I love the YL lip balms for every day use (the vanilla mint scent from their holiday collection is my most fave, but I love the lavender and cinnamint too!). I recently got two lipsticks from Savvy Minerals (the YL beauty line) and I’m looooving them. One is pictured above! I also love the lipsticks from Beautycounter (terra, currant, and nude are the ones I have— the gold tubes pictured) and use those a lot. I’m always on the hunt for good vegan/nontoxic lip products that aren’t super expensive, though, so let me know what you love, especially if I can find it at Target or CVS!
