What I've Been Working On // May 6

I've said it before and I know I'll say it a million times more: I love my job. It's been just over six months here now, and every day, I find more and more things to love about the work I do, the company culture, my coworkers, and the mission and vision behind it all. It's such a joy to come to work every day, and I'm so thankful for that! (For those who don't know, I'm the editor of BibleStudyTools.com!)

There have been quite a few fun things I've done at work lately, so I thought it would be fun to share them here and collide my worlds a little bit!

Here's what I've been working on:

THIS VIDEO:

3 Verses to Show Mom How Much You Love Her, just in time for Mother's Day! Feel free to share this one with every mom you know. It was such a blast to try my hand at stop-motion, and major props to our videographer for absolutely killing it with the editing for this one.

This trending post:

"Why is the Ascension of Jesus so Important to Christians?"

Every week, each editor writes a post on something that's trending in the news or in Christian circles, and it's always a fun challenge. Often, I am assigned to write on a topic I know little about, which makes it even more interesting. This week, I wrote about Ascension Day-- something I didn't grow up hearing about and honestly knew little about until writing this.

This article:

"We All Need These Antidotes This Election Season"

I'm already growing weary of this presidential election, and it's still six months from the day we cast our votes. Thanks to a tweet from Austin Kleon yesterday, I was inspired to write this post about the ways we can stay sane in the months to come as things surely only get more heated and wild.

These graphics:

This is a total teaser because we haven't even launched things yet, but we are starting a new prayer devotional across all of our brands (my company has tons of sites in addition to BibleStudyTools.com, and on the editorial side of things, that includes Crosswalk.com, iBelieve.com, ChristianHeadlines.com, Christianity.com, Jesus.org, etc etc etc). The really fun part (for me) is that we are making new graphics to include in each daily email, to really encourage engagement and sharing on social media. Creating a whole new look and feel to these that is different from the graphics we've made in the past has been a BLAST. You'll see me share more of these as time goes on, I'm sure.
